Rosalie Schlank

aka. Rosalia?

Father: ?

Mother: ?

BIRTH: around 1858 in "Austria-Bohemia"

DEATH: ?

MARRIAGE#1: Leon Kopald

MARRIAGE#2: Joseph Morris? around 1913

Notes: Rosalie was 52 in 1910 at the time of the census. She had 7 children, 6 of whom were still alive.

She was born in "Austria-Bohemia". So were her mother and father. She was living with Henry, who was 26, and Fannie, who was 30. Both were her children.

She came to the U.S. in 1880.

Research provided by my cousin's spouse, Cate O'Neal:

Last record of her is in the 1913 Omaha City Directory.  In the 1910 census, she has a lodger living with her, Joseph Morris, age 50 (she is about 52 at this time).  I believe this must be the "Mr. Morris" she married.  He is a traveling salesman for clothing. I imagine that they married and then left the state about 1913. This would explain why there is no death record of a Rosalia Kopald/Morris in NE. I have checked 1920 censuses in KS, MO, IA, IL, MN, and CA for them with no luck so far. It could very well be that they both died by 1920, after having moved to an as yet unknown state.

I believe I located Rosalia's brother, Jacob/Jake, in Minneapolis in the 1920 census. I have a death for him in 1937; I believe if we order this cert., it should provide both his birthplace and his parents.  Continued to operate hotel/restaurant after Leon's death.
